Taking on the London to Brighton Bike Ride for SCTS
Next week, one of our Burghley Lodge members will once again take on the challenge of cycling from London to Brighton in support of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS).
The London to Brighton Bike Ride is a demanding but rewarding journey, taking cyclists from the capital through the Surrey and Sussex countryside before reaching the finish line on Brighton’s famous seafront. Along the way, participants face a variety of challenging climbs, including the well-known ascent of Ditchling Beacon.
Supporting heart and lung research
The ride will help raise funds for SCTS and its important work supporting heart and lung research.
Advances in cardiothoracic medicine and surgery can transform and save lives. Research helps improve treatments, develop new surgical techniques and provide better outcomes for people affected by serious heart and lung conditions.
By taking part in the ride, our member hopes to contribute to this extremely worthwhile cause while also raising greater awareness of the valuable work being undertaken.
Please show your support
There is no individual JustGiving page for the ride this year. However, anyone wishing to offer their support can donate through the official Team SCTS campaign page:
Donate to the Team SCTS 2026 campaign
Every donation, regardless of its size, will help support vital heart and lung research and will be sincerely appreciated.
Everyone at Burghley Lodge wishes our rider the very best of luck. We look forward to hearing about the experience—and hopefully celebrating another successful arrival in Brighton!
